Week 3: Thing #6: Mash-ups & 3rd Party Sites

Whoops! Combined my answer to this one in Thing #7. An additional comment, I looked at the "award-winning mash-ups" and I guess I really don't understand. They looked like regular webpages to me. I had difficulty linking to other sites in this section.

Week 1: Thing 2: Pointers from Lifelong Learners

The 7 1/2 Habits is an interesting way to present this idea. The easiest habit for me is of course playing. My playing usually involves travel and while I like to be some what spontaneous, I do quite a bit of research on an area before I go. The most difficult habit for me would be viewing problems as challenges. I have almost always felt like I could be part of the solution to challenges, but I haven't always been able to convince others that my solution is the best :)

Week 1: Thing 1: About this Program

Well, now that I've read this activity in more detail I see that I should have started at the beginning. Please forgive this mistake. I came into this program very late and attempted to catch up too quickly. Now that I've caught my breath, I can see many benefits to being able to share with others as we are a bit isolated here on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Week 3: #5: Photo Upload

I also just discovered that I have not read the Discovery Exercises as carefully as I should have and will need to go back and add some to the previous postings. The hazards of trying to post while working the desk.

By the way, the penguins were adorable but stinky. We have more photos and about an hour of video. "Teenage" penguins are difficult for the parents to handle, too.

Week 3: Photos & Images: #7 Create a Blog Post About Anything Technology-Related

I just finished the tour of Flickr and now have major plans for future projects. The thumbnail photo book is a perfect way to display our hundreds of travel photos without the bulk of large albums. I can also easily share photos with the other members of the group we travel with. For their birthday, I can see each grandchild having their very own book about their past year as well. The trading card feature has possibilities. A calendar will be my first project though.

On a different technology topic...I am now the proud owner of an MP3 player. This is a big step for me. With the amount of traveling we do, I don't know why I waited so long.

Week 2: Blogging: Things 3 & 4

Hi,

This is my first experience with blogging, and this has been a great learning experience for me. Thank you for your patience while I get the hang of it. More to come...
